Best Non-Gaming Hotel

"Ninety years ago, when Atlantic City was not much more than a modest string of boarding houses along the ocean, the Claridge Hotel made a splash when it opened as an over-the-top 24-story hotel with 400 rooms and a casino. It brought a new level of opulence to Atlantic City—Princess Grace of Monaco was a frequent guest—and as many hotels have come and gone, it has endured.

The Claridge no longer has a casino, and it offers Atlantic City travelers a refreshing change of pace. The chic clientele appreciates the historic ambience and visits to experience Atlantic City’s beaches, the Boardwalk and the nightlife. The hotel is also home to the Vüe, a rooftop bar and lounge with stunning views of the ocean and cityscape. Gaming seekers may want to sleep elsewhere, but if you’re headed to Atlantic City for a casino-free beach weekend, the Claridge is your best bet." -Forbes

Best Hotels In Atlantic City NJ

Not many Atlantic City hotels have hosted Martin Luther King, Jr. and Princess Grace of Monaco, but the Claridge, in all its Boardwalk Empire grandeur, has welcomed many A-listers and world luminaries in the past ninety years. The property underwent a full renovation a few years ago, which modernized its 20th-century decor while still staying true to the hotel's 1930s roots and opulence.

Although the hotel doesn't have a casino (guests can try their luck at the adjacent Bally's; for convenience, the two properties are physically connected via a hallway on the second floor), it does have a beautiful 500-seat cabaret venue and a popular rooftop bar with some of the most stunning 360-degree views over the ocean and the city.
